El juego presentaba una casa de muñecas genuina conectada a un tablero de motor estilo pinball. Los motores permitían que ciertas partes de la casa de muñecas se movieran bajo el control de la CPU (para permitir que los fantasmas salieran del baño, etc.). Para proyectar los fantasmas, se colocó un monitor en la base del gabinete, proyectando una imagen invertida sobre un panel de vidrio. Este sistema demostró ser una forma tan buena de eliminar interferencias al operar pistolas de luz genuinas (las de ¡Golly! Ghost! eran en realidad joysticks) que este sistema de reflexión se ha utilizado en juegos de pistolas de luz verticales de Namco desde entonces (incluido "Point Blank").
